The BBC Antiques Roadshow was visited in September 2001 by Ray Brett, a former member of Frank Ifield's band. Ray was given this guitar as a present when Frank returned to Australia. It was the first guitar that Frank had taken to the UK, an archtop Maton, that had a custom made pickguard in the shape of Australia. Frank is pictured with the guitar in original condition above left in Australia, and above right with the custom pickguard clearly visible. The Antiques Roadshow expert, Bunny Campione said that without the Ifield connection it would be worth £2000. The fact that Frank Ifield made an album with the Beatles would put the value up to £10-£15,000 !!! Full story...
